My New Arrival!

Well, it has been a hectic week with the arrival of my new little friend.
Bonnies girl 3-14-8 born
Her name is Arista, and she is 7 months old now.

Penny-Boy & Bonnie-Girls
This is a picture of Arista in the middle, and Sophie, her sister is on the right..(The little one)

She is an AKC registered Papillon, often called the "Butterfly dog", because of the ears sticking up almost from birth. Papillion is French for butterfly also! This little pup is 7 months old, and weighs a big whopping 5.5 pounds. However, if you would like her to jump, she can jump a big whopping 6 feet, sometimes reminding me of a jumping jack. Although, you really need to watch their jumping, so they don't hurt themselves. By the breeder she was called Bonnie's girl, or Baby Doll, but I renamed her Arista, meaning "the best" in Greek. Papillons are very easy to teach, and they learn very quickly. Basically they behave very well, and have a great personality. They are also somewhat clown-like.

I already have a Hybrid Chinese Crested Powder puff/Papillon. The two seem to get along very well, even though both are females. But, they both always seem to fighting to be the dominant one. Sasha, my other dog is now about 2 years old, and weights about 7 pounds.

This is Sasha after her very first clip

It is important to have a very good breeder if you would like to buy a well bred Papillon, so some of the prices are quick high. The breeder I used is a member of the AKC, and a well known Breeder here in AZ. Here is some information about this Breeder:

AZ Skidmore's Papillons Puppies Available! Males & females. AKC. Champion bloodlines. Show & pet quality. Tri & sable colors. Sometimes tiny. From Skoor, Kenmar, Cadoga and Glenmary lines. Call for more information & availability. Visit website: http://www.valspaps.com Arizona
Valerie Skidmore (480) 391-1593 / Email: vals_paps@lycos.com

Valerie just had two litters of different colors, which will be ready for a very nice Christmas present for your family, or yourself. Normally, her females go for about $1200 and the males $1000, however the best way to find out about them is to call her, or you can even email her. The great thing about buying a dog from Valerie is you can always call her if you have problems or questions about your new baby. She also is great about making sure you are satisfied about your choice of a new pup. If you would like a perfect pup, you would not be dissatisfied with one of hers.

Lillie's pups 10-21-08
These are Lillie's new babies. (If you click on the pictures, it will bring you to all the available dogs Valerie has.)

Penny's pups 10-21-08
These are Penny's pups, and the same prices $1200 for female, and $1000 for a male

Now, if you go to the website on Webshots you will see some other dogs which are older, and they are less money than the brand new pups, accept for one female called Sophie who is $2500 because she is a teacup. There are also some Corgi/Papillon mix pups for sale and the females are $600, and the males are $400-$500. Below is two different pictures of them...they are quite cute if you can't afford a purebred Papillon. Just a note, all of the Skidmore pups, and adult dogs are AKC registered, with champion bloodlines.
Corgi Papillon Mix BD July 31 '08
Marti's pups are Corgi/Papillon Mix. Two males on left, Two females on right born 7/31/08
Prices for these pups are $600 for a female, and $550 for a male. This is a friend of Valerie's that is selling these pups.
Martha's Pap-Corgi Mix
Marti's Papillon-Corgi Mix born July 31, 2008.

So if you might be interested in buying a Papillon, give Valerie Skidmore a call at (480) 391-1593 and talk to her about her dogs. If you might be interested in the Corgi/Papillion mixes please also call the same number. She will be able to answer any questions you may have, and if you want an older dog then she can give you a quote on them also....All of them have been hand raised, and socialized.

Congrats on the new addition. If I were able to have a dog, no questions about it, it would be a papillon.
Whenever I see one, it just makes me smile.

Hi Froggy,
Thanks! Actually, I have only one Papillion, and my other dog is part Chinese Crested part Papillion. The other pictures of the little puppies are for sale by the Breeder. ;-)

Hi Jae,
Thanks for stopping by, and yes those little things are just darling...my new baby is quite the character. If you would like 3 that will be around $3600...hehehe

Thank you both of you... :-),

Hi Jackie,
YES, I am back...now working on a Halloween story. I am glad I made your day. My new baby has helped to be making my days a bit better, and what a character she is. Actually, both of my pups are clowns, and quite the characters, each having very different personalities.
BIG HUGS to you also, Skye

Hi Da Old Man,
Thanks for stopping by, and making your comment...it is certainly appreciated. Well it is too bad your not able to have a dog, because the breeder has one she is selling for a very low amount...he is 7 months old, and is cute as he can be. They call him "Thor"...and he was the first to jump up into my lap, however he weights too much to be walking all over me in my hospital bed, so took the small female, and boy was he unhappy. (Thor will probably weight like 9 to 10 pounds full grown) The Breeder is lowering her prices on some of the older pups, because she has the new ones now...ready for Christmas. These pups love to smile!
Have a great one!
Skye

Cute pups! The females are more expensive than the males? That is not fare! Are we all not equal? ;-)

Now all you need to do is get a cat to pay with your dogs!

Hi Jackie,
Well I didn't get my Halloween post done. I am still not on as much as I was, because I haven't been feeling too well, and also some stuff is going on....it is off for more surgery soon.
You take care now...hugs)))

Hey there Igor,
Nice to see you here! Yes, I am afraid that in the Dogs World, females are worth more to breeders than males. You need only one male to make all the little females pregnant, where to get more puppies that makes more money, you need more females. One male dog can impregnate many females at one time. So when they sell one, they know the customer can make money back from a female, more so than a male. I agree with you though, it should be equal...

Actually, there was one male I looked at that really liked me right off, and he was beautiful, however a bit too big...My female weights only 5.5, and will stay that way. I also have an unfixed female already.

The Breeder is going to have my pup have one liter, we made an agreement...I will end up getting my money back. She sees something in her that makes her more of a "Show Dog"..so the Breeder wants that trait. I think it is her dark head.
Thanks for stopping by,
Skye

Hi Skye!
Glad to see you back!

What a cute dog you got there!
Long hair and sweet face!
So you're keeping them both with you at the hospital? Do they really allow you to do that? So nice!

And nice to know your dog is gonna have puppies!

Hi Melisa,
Glad to see you stopped by...I have been kind of missing in action lately..but trying to get back with it.

The puppy is really doing well, and she is all house trained now...well, mostly. I love these little dogs with the big ears. Papillon means butterfly in French...their ears look like butterflies..Some dogs ears are bigger than others.

I am not in the hospital yet, I think people get confused and think I live in the hospital, but I don't...I just spend a lot of time there....Surgery on my feet being the next thing.
Take care + hugs, Skye

Hi Jackie,
Well, a couple of times, I had half a post done...and then never finished. DANG! Oh, well...

I miss you also...and yes, I will stop by and see the children's pictures. Sometimes I stop at your site, but don't always make comments, which I should do...it is only fair. :-)

Check out my new Paranormal Caption Contest...
Hugs for you, Skye
