The Dog Stroller

My sister called me yesterday, and while we were talking, she told me about a dog stroller she bought for our mother. My mother just moved from North Carolina to Florida, with her little Chihuahua. My mother is getting older now, and realized that she could no longer care for a house she owned. She moved into a Community that is called Dawling Park, which is a large community that is basically self contained. They have just about anything you could possible want there, for instance, stores, shops, community events, transportation, houses, apartments, assisted living, and nursing homes. Well, she decided to rent herself an apartment there, and she now lives on the third floor of one of their buildings.

Because this is a Community, there are certain rules and regulations you must abide by. She needs to pick up her little Chihuahua, since the dog's feet are not suppose to hit the floors outside her apartment at all. The elevator is close by, however, in the morning my mother carries the dog down the stairs...I guess she wants some exercise. However, besides walking down the stairs, carrying a dog is quite a strain on her. At least, this is how my sister felt about it. My mother could use the elevator, however, she still has to carry the dog around from the third floor down, and then back up again.

My sister started to frantically searched the Internet for a dog stroller, that my mother could use for the dog. Well she was very surprised that so many sites came up selling dog strollers. However, she found one that had free shipping, and chose that one. She waited with anticipation for the delivery of her new dog stroller. It finally arrived in about 4 days. She was so excited to see it, and how it worked. She owns a small dog herself, so she used her own dog to try it out. She was ecstatic, her dog just loved it! Well my sister grabbed her husband, and took the hour trip to our mother's place to present her with her new dog stroller. Our mother opened the door, and my sister wheeled in the new stroller into her apartment, and was she surprised! Our mother placed her little Chihuahua in the dog stroller, and the dog just loved it. Now people stopped her on the street when she is strolling her dog, not really to see the dog, but to see the stroller. Now because it is basically like a baby stroller, my mother is able to go into places without any bother at all. The dog is all zipped in behind a mess front, and quite comfortable, and quiet. She actually even went into a restaurant with it, and sneaked little bits of food to the dog, as he popped his little head out. She just wheeled him nicely under the table while she was there.

I own a Chinese Crested Powder-Puff Hybrid, who's name is Sasha, and I was thinking of getting one for her. She weights about 7 pounds, and does love to be carried around. After speaking with my sister I looked for the place she order hers, and found it: http://justpetstrollers.com/happy_trails_pet_stroller.html These strollers are not only for the smaller dogs, they are also for dogs up to 75 pounds, at all different prices. The stroller that my sister got for our mother is called the Pet Gear "Petzip Urban Vogue Pet Stroller - Blue or Pink" The picture that is just above is called the "Happy Trails Pet Stroller".at $79.99. The one at the very top is called the "Petzip Urban Vogue Pet Stroller", and costs about $99.99. The prices of these strollers vary according to how much weight is being held, and also how elaborate the stroller is. Below is some information about this site's dog strollers.

Every dog owner knows that most of us "dog lovers" definitely
pamper our pets with all kinds of things such as toys, bones, treats, clothes,
and this seems tome to be the ultimate of pampering. Now you can take your dog
for a walk, without the dog actually walking. It is good for a dog that will only walk for a short distance, and then stop. My dog will do that, she will sit when
she is tired, and won't budge. Also, if you go into a store, shopping
area, restaurant, and etc., no one seems to notice that it is a dog, and NOT
a baby. There is enough room in them for the dog to lie down, and stretch out and
sleep. They are also padded, and the pads can be removed for cleaning. Overall,
it seems to me, that they are a great product, and would be good for particular
dogs. Our mother's dog really loves it, and will stay in it for a long time
without whining or barking. This company also has a Pet Stroller Blog: Tips &
Advice to help explain everything to you. Now, the one that I have picked out is
called the "Jeep ® Wrangler Pet Stroller", which is pictured below.

"Jeep Wrangler Features:
Free Shipping!*

Folds and stores flat (15" high), and one-hand quick-fold mechanism allows for easy folding in just seconds!
Breathable bug-proof mesh provides maximum ventilation and visibility

Removable pad included
Parent tray contains cup holder and holds keys or cell phone.
Sand Stone color
Assembles in minutes.
Size: 28" x 19" x 40" high. Weighs 17 lbs.">
Now it seems to me that this is the best for the price, which is $95.99 including Shipping, because of it's sturdiness. Even though the "Happy Trails" is about $20 less, I think I would be better off to spend the little extra to get the sturdiness of this particular one. There is also the weatherproofing of the Jeep compared to the other. I think Sasha would love riding in style, and also be quite comfortable in this, as she can stretch out and sleep, or take a peak out, and see where she is going.

This is Sasha, my little pup!

I have to say truthfully I did not know there were such things as dog strollers, but I guess someone came up with the idea and a heck of an idea it is.

Unfortunately, they dog not make strollers big enough to cart around my 2 German Shepherds!

And that's A-OK with me; because I certainly would not want to "stroll" (push) their big bums around, anyways!

=D

Hope all the things are addressed now...Please let me know if you are still having issues...I think over the last week or so we have fixed a number of issues so that the blogger stuff looks really good now.

Hi Quackster,
Thanks for stopping by, and making a comment.

I didn't know they had these things either till my sister told me her story. Someone is racking in the big bucks, there are lots of pampered pets out there, including mine..LOL!

Hey Kim,
How are you doing anyways? I am back again, just came home today, and reading the few comments here, thanks for stopping by.

I totally understand why you would NOT want to push your two big dogs around in a stroller, talk about getting your exercise..lol!

However, my dog weights only 7 pounds and she poops out after just a short walk. Also, it would be good for me, because then I can push it ahead of my electric chair, or pull it behind.

I didn't even know they had these things until my sister told me the story about my mother's dog. I mean talk about pampering a dog. My dog is a foofoo anyways, she will really be a foofoo in this thing. (She just loves clothes, and to be dressed up.)

Hi jitendra,
Thanks for stopping by, and also for all your help. The program is working really well now, as far as I can see. The only thing, is the badge is still not showing up..hmm, unless you see it, and I don't.

I am glad you like my new theme, I knew I needed something different but wasn't sure what to do, so came up with this. So, thanks for the compliment. :)

Hi rayter,
Well I am glad you stumbled across my blog....also glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for leaving a comment on this post. This was kind of a strange post for me, however, I was amazed at the fact they had Pet Strollers at all. I had never looked for one. Then my mother got one...I now have pictures of it, the dog is cute in it.

Anyways, I just had to write my sister's story, she was just so excited.
Thanks, Skye
