Death Of The SEO

Are we seeing the "Death of the SEO"? Yes, I do believe so, unless they make some changes within the inner workings of their Company. Even some of the major players are also thinking along these lines. This is a statement that Matt Cutts stated back in 2006: “SEOs are Criminals”.

"Matt Cutts stated "in an episode of GoodKarma, WebMasterRadio, Matt Cutts equated SEOs to hackers and criminals:
Now there is a bright side. Like at the point when SEOs become illegal hackers. Like when they really start to break the law. And well you could argue if you're signing a ton of guestbooks really fast, or you're doing a ton of trackback or referrer spam, you know that almost does get towards the denial of service attack, but this is the first time where you could actually go to a court of law and you can say, "look, here's my account, I got hacked, here's all the stuff."
And on some level, it is almost kind of a silver lining, in that for the first time you could go, and you know, you could actually get an SEO convicted of doing something like this."
Well, this may tell you something, that maybe we should wake up and find out exactly what is going on. Are the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) criminals? I think some of their practises are just that.
Do we really need them, and are they helping us in anyway? I think not! What are they hiding from us?

Do they even know what they are trying to accomplish, by hiding the real truth from the public? Yes, I think they do, but what they are trying to accomplish is in no way going to help us. That is why they wear the "Black Hats". In the old West, the good guys wore the "white hats", and the bad guys wore the "black hats". Well, it is the same as today, but we are not the ones wearing the "black hats".

"The Most Cutting Edge SEO Exploits No One is Publishing
August 14th 2006 You know that the best SEO Black Hats are doing something more than scraping, using a site generator, comment spamming, and pinging to be raking in more than $100k per month.
But what is it?
Right now, there is way too much good stuff that I simply can’t publish on the SEO Black Hat blog. If I posted these tactics and exploits they would immediately get all the wrong kind of attention. The detailed conversations about how exactly to abuse search engine algorithms, generate massive traffic, and what other Black Hats are doing must remain underground to retain their effectiveness."
While they are making tons of money, what is happening to us. The Public is starting to complain, as they rightly should, and there is a lot of negative buzz around the SEO. It seems to me that the SEO do a lot of spamming. There seems to be a lot of charging to make your blog, or website popular, and to get in into the number slots of the Search Engines. I think there may be other ways to make your website, or blog to show up in searches without spending all the money the SEO would love you to spend.

"A Hearty Welcome to All the New Search Engine Spammers!
April 15th 2007 The family of SEO Black Hats just got a whole lot bigger. Tons of people who thought they were playing by the rules, including sites in every category of the Internet, just got categorized as search engine spammers by Google in Matt Cutt’s recent post."
Where are we heading, well it seems we are headed down the long hallway of the paranormal. Why do I think that the SEO have anything to do with the paranormal, well because they have become somewhat unbelievable, the same way that some don't believe the paranormal. Yes, I find the SEO portray and "describe unusual phenomena or experiences that lack an obvious scientific explanation." There seems to be nothing scientific about the SEO, in my sense of the word. Actually, they don't make sense at all!

I think they must start to change their ways, or there will be a "Death Of The SEO". Then all that will linger behind are the ghosts of the SEO. Now, as some of us know ghosts can be very benevolent, or they can be cruel, and mischievous such as poltergeists. I do believe our SEO characters would become poltergeists. We already know they are quite mischievous in real life, why wouldn't they be in the Spiritual World. Just in case some of you don't know what I mean by the Spiritual World, this is from the "Spiritual World Dictionary":

"If we accept that dying is not the end of our existence but simply the end of the body that carried our consciousness, and that our soul survives and exists somewhere else, then we can accept that it might be possible to make contact with the consciousness and all the emotions and memories that continue on."
Therefore, even though their bodies may be gone, their consciousness, and soul carries on. I have seen this World with my own eyes, since I have had many near-death experiences because of illness. The Wikipedia states this about the Near-death Studies:

"NDE (Near-death experience)
The NDE is an experience reported by people who have come close to dying in a medical or non-medical setting. The phenomenon is considered to be a fairly common occurrence in modern clinical settings (Lukoff, Lu & Turner, 1998) and according to a Gallup poll approximately eight million Americans claim to have had a near-death experience (Mauro, 1992). An NDE may include such factors as: an out-of-body-experience, visions of deceased relatives, visions of religious figures or beings of light, transcendence of ego and spatio-temporal boundaries, the sense of moving up or through a narrow passageway ("Tunnel experience"), life review, and other transcendental experiences (Lukoff, Lu & Turner, 1998; Greyson, 2003; Mauro, 1992). The phenomenology of an NDE usually includes physiological, psychological and transcendental factors that come together to form an overall pattern when numerous NDE reports are considered together. It is this pattern that is one of the main objects of interest for Near-Death studies. NDE-researchers have also found that the NDE is not a uniquely western experience. The core experience seems to be similar across cultures, but the details of the experience (figures, beings, scenery), and the interpretation of the experience, varies a lot from culture to culture (Mauro, 1992)."

Another experience I had just recently during surgery the 15th of this month (May) is what they call an Out-Of-Body experience. This is called OBE, or sometimes OOBE. I remember the doctors talking about me, and talking about my blood pressure dropping, this also could be the NDE that I spoke above about, because I was so close to death. I told the nurses when I woke up, but they just concluded that I was coming out of anesthesia, and heard them talking. I don't believe they would be talking the way they were in front of me. Also, this is not the first time I have experienced this. The Wikipedia has a great description of this also:

"OBEs are sometimes reported to be preceded by and initiated from a lucid dream state, though other types of initiation—ranging anywhere from immediate and spontaneous experiences, to conscientiously controlled and pre-meditated methods (examples of which are widely available in all the most popular books on the subject)—are also reported. In many cases, people who claimed to have had an OBE reported being asleep, on the verge of sleep, or already asleep shortly before the experience. A large percentage of these cases referred to situations where the sleep was not particularly deep (due to illness, noises in other rooms, emotional stress, exhaustion from overworking, frequent re-awakening, etc.). In most of these cases, the subjects then felt themselves awake; about half them noted a feeling of sleep paralysis.[4] Some subjects report having had an OBE during near death conditions."

The only reason I mention this, is because some of the characters of the SEO, seem to me to be acting like they are somewhat asleep, and walking in their sleep. There is a drug that the Native Americans use to place them in the OBE, which is called peyote. Have they all been smoking peyote? I sit here and wonder!

Before I decided to write this post, my friend, Igor The Troll, wrote a post about the "SEO Divas", in which if you read that post before mine, it will give you a great idea of the players of the SEO. I was quite thankful to him for writing it, since it helped me with my post. My suggestion is to take a look at it, because it will also be helpful to you. Here is a short excerpt from his post:

"Do not get me wrong. SEO is important but not as much these guys make you want to believe it is. The basis of SEO you can list on your hands using your fingers! More than any kind of Voodoo, SEO it is content. Content is King! Just ask Matt Cutts and he will confirm with me! You make an interesting page Internet users will read it and link to it. Search engines will indexes it, and more users will find it in search results. Do not try to game the search engines, it is a losing battle, and if you get caught you will be crying, “Why Google does not like me!” at GWHF. You do not want to go there. They treat you like Shit. Just ask Adam Lasnik the Google search engine Evangelist."

These guys are really weird! While I was doing a bit of research on the SEO I came across this page written by Paul Madden an SEO and designer from the UK.

The page is http://www.seoidiot.com/, which is Paul Madden's Personal Blog. He actually calls himself a SEO Idiot. I will give an explanation a bit later, I just found it very amusing. He has also doodled some great caricatures of his buddies, and the SEO players. This is one of Paul Madden.

Here is what Paul Madden says about himself (To the right is a real picture of Paul Madden):

"Im SEOidiot (Although my real name is Paul). I have been addicted to the internet since 1996 and I am always looking for new ways to keep me interested online, nearly all of them involve finding ways to make money…..

Im a simple Adsense Farmer….
I have WhiteHat sites
I have my fair share of ermmm experimental content aggregation sites….
I have a bunch of grey sites
I am a mod over at my good friend Earls forum
http://www.syndk8.net/
I am also an avid doodler… i love to cartoon, the cartoon on the top of this blog is one of mine. If anyone ever wants any cartooning work done I can often be persuaded using beer, money or favours….."

This begins to make you realize what the SEO is really after, and it is NOT making your website, or blog number one in the Search Engines, there is nothing here that tells me that they are out for us, they are out for themselves only! They are money hungry scandalmongers! You can spend thousands of dollars buying SEO products to supposedly bring your website, or blog to the number one slot on the Search Engines, however, is this really going to do it? I don't think so. This is why I see the SEO part of the paranormal since science can't measure it. It just becomes an "unusual phenomena or experiences that lack an obvious scientific explanation".

Just in the past day I came across two of the strangest sites while searching for information on the SEO, one was a SEO Cartoon Quiz. Take this yourself, and see how you do, I didn't do that well, but I definitely don't think like they do. You would think after everything I have read, that I could pass their stupid test. I guess that is because I am not stupid! The second site I found was "The SEO Addict", now I also found this quite amusing also!

Does that look like blood? Maybe it is our blood! Have they become another paranormal creature, a Vampire. Makes sense to me if you look at the Modern belief of vampirism.
"In modern fiction, the vampire tends to be depicted as a suave, charismatic villain. Despite the general disbelief in vampiric entities, occasional sightings of vampires are reported. Indeed, vampire hunting societies still exist, although they are largely formed for social reasons. Allegations of vampire attacks swept through the African country of Malawi during late 2002 and early 2003, with mobs stoning one individual to death and attacking at least four others, including Governor Eric Chiwaya, based on the belief that the government was colluding with vampires."
In wrapping all this up, I have to say that I think we will be seeing the "Death of the SEO", it might not be today, but it will be somewhat soon. Now, that is if they don't change some of their ways in dealing with websites, and blogs....and mostly people themselves. I think the one think that they fail to see is that behind the websites, and blogs are human beings with feelings, thoughts, and souls. Mostly they forget that we are not inanimate objects. Therefore we may see the end to the Search Engine Optimization! It will walk off into the "wild blue yonder" of the paranormal.

Great post! You really did your research and you hit the nail right on its head!

We have to feel for the future, and that is the Paranormal!

Hi Igor,
I am so very happy that you liked my post. I do have to say that I was a bit nervous that you may not like it. That is just me...I always want to do my best when it comes to something that important, and that you had asked me to do it in the first place.

Yes, we have delved, and fell in the paranormal. The future is neigh!

Hi Skye!
This is a very very long post. I can't continue reading after the first few lines.
I'd prefer shorter posts (broken up into a few), but it's up to you, really.

Lost me when you tried to relate it to the paranormal and vampires.
SEO is like any other busines / practice - some are genuinely there to help you, some just to make money. Some do things the right way, some try to cheat.

Excellent post Skye. I completely enjoyed it.

And I can definitely relate the SEO's to vampies.

I work my tail off and have links all over the place.

Yet I don't run adds. Therefore, Google and many don't bother to rank me.

When I had my political site and ran adds I had a Google ranking.

I can definitely tell that you put a lot of work into this.

And, I didn't find it too long at all. It held my attention all the way to the end!!:-)))

Hi Melisa,
Sorry my post was too long for you, I know sometimes when reading long posts you do lose interest. This may not have been something you were interested in anyways, but that is ok, at least you did comment, and I thank you for that.

The next one may not be as long as this one, I did put a lot of research into this because I was writing it for someone else, and wanted it done right.

No problem Melisa, your still my buddy, with the cute little bro...LOL! You tried, and that counts for something. ;)

Hi Internet Marketing,
Thanks for stopping by and making your comment to my post. I am sorry you couldn't understand my connection to the paranormal.

I think if you read back, and see why I connected it to the paranormal, you might understand. But, that is okay!

Yes, Big Business, or the SEO, are sometimes just out to make money, and some are going to cheat. But I do believe that the ones who do that ruin it for everyone even those who are trying hard to do the right thing. Maybe that is why we talk about the Black Hats, and the White Hats. The majority of normal everyday people are not happy with the pratices of the SEO today...and that is quite obvious. I had tons of references to prove this, but I believe this post was long enough, so they didn't all fit there.

Anyways, I do appreciate you stopping by, and taking the time to read my post, and also comment about it.

Hi Shinade,
Thanks for stopping by, and making your comment. I really do appreciate your comment, and glad you liked my post. I just love your support for my post!

I understand the Google ads, and you working you butt off to get you blog ranked. I still do have some ads myself, from when I first started my blog. Now, I knew nothing about those things at that time, and they do nothing for me anyways...but they are still there, just not as many.

I guess I did well, if the post held your attention till the end. ;) I hope to do as well on the next one! I have already started my research for that one.

Hi Skye,
I realise you must have put a lot of effort in this post, and that's really cool. And I guess it is just not something I can relate to.
But actually, even though there are many posts out there with a topic I'd normally not be interested in, I would have read the whole thing if only they're shorter. (Just so you know)
Thanks!

Hi Melisa,
Why are you kicking yourself over a post that didn't interest you, I don't mind that it wasn't interesting to you, not everything I write will peak your interest, the same as not everything you write will peak mine. It is no big deal, don't feel so bad, I don't. :) I mean I would love to hold everyone interests with my post, but it won't happen. But, just remember...That is OK!! There are no hard feelings, I feel like you think there are, but hun, there is none.

So the SEO don't interest you, they are not the most interesting people anyways, so stop kicking yourself...please! One of these days there will be something that I write that does peak your interest.

We all have different interests, yours is knitting and crocheting, which is cool with me, I love your stuff. Oh, and Sea World, which was very interesting, and the pictures were so neat. Also, I actually got to see what you look like. :)

Don't be so hard on yourself. I hope you didn't think in my comment I was being hard on you, because I wasn't. Actually, I was being understanding. ;) I will try to make them shorter, or a bit shorter. That was long, because there is just so much information about that particular subject.

Hi Skye,

Originally I just wanted to give a suggestion to break one long post into a few digestible ones. That's all there is to my comment actually.

Only after reading your reply to my comment, I feel I should acknowledge your effort in writing this post. I mean, I don't want to offend anybody, so I'm saying it just in case you do, you know.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks again!
